Hurtful Expectations

Handful of memories
Are now what I am left with,
And those too seem
To be speedily falling from my hand
Like some grains of sand…

There is dust
that has started to accumulate
Over the cherished moments of her,
If she remembers
when we had met
Long back…

Seeing her
After so many days
I felt like getting relieved
From a thorn that had kept me pricking
Somewhere deep inside

I have learnt from her…
The best and fine etiquettes of loving,
By staying away from her for so long
And not even getting to talk her
even for a short while

Somewhere we have reached
the same point in the journey
From where we had started wandering aimlessly,
Consequence of which is that
We have to become strangers impulsively…

I will never blame her
For she cannot hurt me,
They are my hopes from her
that are hurting me…

From the book “For Her”
